In 2019, Valtteri Bottas participated in the Arctic Rally, winning a stage and finishing fifth overall. He also won the Rallycircuit Côte d’Azur held in Paul Ricard in December of the same year. The following year, he took part in the Arctic Lapland Rally, driving a Citroën DS3 WRC car and finishing ninth. In October 2020, he underwent an Extreme E test with Jean-Éric Vergne and Sébastien Loeb. In 2021, he competed in his third Arctic Lapland Rally and secured a class podium, finishing sixth overall.
Although Bottas was originally set to participate in the Race of Champions in 2022 with two-time Formula One champion Mika Häkkinen, he withdrew from the event at the last minute. Instead, he is scheduled to race alongside Häkkinen in the 2023 edition of the competition.
