The good Samaritan who tried to save a woman and her son from being shot dead, has come forward to tell Utah detectives how the horrific incident unfolded.
Memorez Rackley and her six-year-old son, Jase, were both gunned down by Rackley's bodybuilder ex-boyfriend, Jeremy Patterson, on Tuesday.
Rackley's 11-year-old son, Myles, is still recovering in the ICU at Primary Children's Hospital after he was shot in the neck by Patterson, who then turned the gun on himself.
Sandy City Police recently spoke to the Good Samaritan, whose own daughter was shot in the incident, to understand the moments leading up to the horrifying shooting.

The woman, who has not been identified, told police that she was in her vehicle near a church next to Brookwood Elementary School, with her children, when she saw Memorez fighting with Patterson. Crime scene investigators work at the scene of the deadly shooting on Tuesday
The woman, who has not been identified, told police that she was in her vehicle near a church next to Brookwood Elementary School, with her children, when she saw Memorez fighting with Patterson, according to Fox 13.
Sgt Jason Neilsen said Friday that Memorez and her two sons climbed into the woman's car.
The woman drove off but only made it a couple of blocks before Patterson rammed the SUV with his truck, then got out and opened fire.
Nielsen said the woman was with her children at the time, though he wasn't sure how many children.
Her eight-year-old daughter was shot in the leg along with Myles, but both children survived.
Other parents also helped by grabbing other school kids walking home and getting them to safety.
'The community stepped up, they got involved,' Nielsen said. 'They were able to save some lives.'

Family friend, Jeff White, who is acting as the family's spokesman, said Myles suffered a single gunshot wound to the neck, but according to White, the bullet exited cleanly near Myles' jaw without damaging any vertebrae.
White said Myles was well enough to have some friends visit him briefly in the ICU on Thursday, reported KSL.
The 11-year-old boy survived a brain aneurysm that occurred without warning last year, according to White.
'It just happened. It was extremely terrifying,' White said. 'He's kind of like a little walking miracle.'
Another family friend, Sarah Weaver told Fox News that Myles is awake but remains in intensive care.
'The Rackley family continues to be grateful for the support and love they are receiving from the community,' she said.
Weaver added that Myles is 'improving and showing the family how strong, brave and resilient he is'.
Myles missed his 5th grade graduation Wednesday, so the students, teachers and parents read his name aloud and gave him a standing ovation, said classmate Chloee Walker.

Memorez, 39, had broken up with, Patterson, 32, three days before he fatally shot her and her son Jase.
She had called police to report Patterson was harassing her in the early-morning hours on Saturday. She asked them to tell Patterson to stop contacting her, Nielsen said.
The violence unfolded near the home of Kathy Peterson, who heard screams and pounding at her front door and opened it to find a hysterical woman and three young girls cowering, one of the girls covered in blood.
Peterson said the woman, who turned out to be the good Samaritan, said she was driving her two daughters and another girl home from the same elementary school when Rackley flagged her down asking for help.
Peterson said she heard gunshots nearby in the middle-class neighborhood before she brought them inside to safety.

Share'He's killing everybody and he's trying to kill us,' the terrified woman told Peterson through tears.
After getting the woman and children inside, Peterson said she said a prayer and gave the girls teddy bears until paramedics arrived to take the mother and her daughter to the hospital.
The extent and nature of Rackley and Patterson's relationship and the motive for the shooting remain unclear as detectives probed leads, Nielsen said.
Patterson lived in the nearby suburb of Draper, where neighbor Patricia Briennieson described him as a muscular man who looked like a bodybuilder and had a mixed-martial arts sticker on the back window of his pickup truck.
Rackley was married to Dustin Rackley and Patterson was not the father of her children, police said.
Parent Toni Linsenmeyer said Memorez and Dustin had been separated for several months but that both attended all of their six-year-old son's soccer games in the spring.

Linsenmeyer's daughter was in the boy's school class and played on the soccer team, which was coached by Rackley's husband.
'It breaks my heart,' Linsenmeyer said.
On Thursday night, about a hundred people in the community, including prominent religious and civic leaders, attended an interfaith gathering in a Church of Latter Day Saints chapel to pay tribute to the Rackley family.
'We feel deep and real pain. That's not going to go away soon,' LDS Bishop Alan Matheson told the audience.
A GoFundMe campaign that was launched on Wednesday collecting donations for Memorez and Jase's funerals has drawn more than $27,000 in donations as of Friday night.
