Following his real-life brother, Olympic Gold Medalist Gable Steveson’s, in-ring debut at NXT Great American Bash 2023, WWE NXT star Damon Kemp shared his reaction. He also took a little shot at his brother in the process.
Damon Kemp, who might want a match with his brother as well, tweeted out that the double count-out finish wouldn’t have been a reality if he had a proper trainer.
I mean if the guy would’ve had a “proper trainer”, maybe he would’ve won his NXT debut.
The highly anticipated match featured Gable Steveson going up against Baron Corbin, who was debuting the latest version of his character, complete with new entrance, gear, and theme. Given the immense expectations WWE had for Steveson, many believed he would secure a victory in his first WWE bout.
However, things didn’t unfold as expected. The match between Corbin and Steveson ended in a double count-out, with the two competitors brawling post-match and needing to be separated by referees and security.
The outcome left not only the fans in the arena disappointed but also appeared to leave Steveson’s own flesh and blood, Damon Kemp, dissatisfied. Fans also showered Steveson with chants of “you’re not Angle” during the Great American Bash event.
